Refreshing

The following is an E-Letter from a friend of ours, Kassi. She and her husband Rick have an awesome ministry in Waxahacie, TX.

Hello Daughters of the Most High God!

What a refreshing time we have had with all of this rain. I told Rick about two weeks ago that I was ready for fall. Usually around the middle of October I am ready, but with all of the heat in July, I was ready a little earlier. But, how good God is to us. The rain and the cooler temperatures have been such a breath of fresh air.

I am not talking weather to you just to pass the time by. You see, two weeks ago my backyard looked brown and parched. We live in an older home out in the country and so we still have to water our lawn the old fashion way. Well, we have been in and out of town a lot so our lawn has suffered this July. However, in just one week, with all of the rain God has blessed us with, our lawn is a beautiful green and has filled in all of the bald spots that it had from a month of being dry.

It happened so fast. God is so good. Well, so what do we need to do to cause us to feel that kind of a refreshing on the inside? What will cause our spirit and soul to soar and feel renewed? The same thing that my lawn needed. In Ephesians 5:26 Paul tells us that we are cleansed
and sanctified by the washing of water by the Word of God. That's right! We have to stay in the Word. We have to stay in the Spirit. We can't live off of yesterday's revelations and insights. We have to get in God's magnificent Word and pray in the Spirit every day of our lives if we want
to always increase and prosper in every area of our lives.

His precious Word and Holy Spirit are God's gift to us to help us through life's trials and obstacles. There have been times in my life that, in the natural, I didn't know how I was going to get through. But when I ran to the Word of God... when I crawled up into Abba Daddy's lap and allowed Him to minister to me, I was reminded that "I can do ALL things THROUGH CHRIST Who strengthens me." (Philippians4:13)

We can't wait till Sunday to get this refreshing. You see, if we didn't get any rain till late October and I didn't water my lawn myself, it would look all parched and dry again. Rick says it like this, "In consistency, lies sufficiency." In order to keep from feeling down and out and drained from what this world has dealt us, we have to DAILY stay in His Word and DAILY spend time talking to God. However, we don't need to do all of the talking. We need to set aside some time to just be quiet and let Him talk to us.

So, praise God for all of the rain we have received. But also praise Him that He has given us access to have a spiritual rain everyday of our lives through His Son, His Word and His Spirit.

You Are BLESSED!
